LASER Therapy

Welcome to the world of healing

A non-heating pain-free therapy, cold laser therapy makes use of intense beams of pure light from specific wavelengths. These wavelengths activate localized energy cells to promote healing and decrease inflammation as well as provide relief from acute and chronic pain.

This procedure is safe, effective and non-invasive to use.  No vibration or heat is felt.  The non-thermal photons of light that are emitted from the Laser, pass through the skin layers. Once the light passes through the layers of the skin and reaches the target area. The body tissue then absorbs the light and initiates a series of events in the cell resulting in the healing of damaged or injured tissue, reduction in pain and inflammation, and an overall reduction in healing time by increasing intracellular metabolism.  Cold laser therapy has a bio-stimulating effect to enhance the natural cell activity in the body, speeding up the healing process, and improving on a cellular level, helping to repair muscle tissues. It is versatile and can be used on many different chronic and acute conditions while serving as an additive in conjunction with other modalities or manual therapies. There is no radiation associated with the treatment itself.

Conditions can be treated by Laser Therapy

With broad-ranging benefits, LASER Therapy is appropriate for a lot of treatment plans. Some of them are:

1. General Chronic Pain
2. Tennis elbow
3. Plantar fasciitis
4. Shoulder impingement
5. Frozen shoulder
6. Disc herniation
7. Sciatica
8. Pelvic Dysfunction
9. Osteoarthritis of the knee, hip, and ankle
10. Rheumatoid arthritis
11. Tendonitis
12. Tennis Elbow
13. Temporomandibular Joint
14. Diabetic Neuropathy
15. Hip or shoulder bursitis

16. Carpal Tunnel syndrome

17. Calcifications

18. Fractures with Soft Tissue Damage

19. Ligament and Tendon Tears

20. Sprains and Strains

21. Plantar Fasciitis

22. Degenerative Disc Disease

23. Whiplash

That being said, here are 10 reasons you should use Laser Therapy:

  1. Accelerates cellular reproduction and growth. The light assists in tissue repair by increasing energy available to the cell, taking in nutrients and expelling waste at a faster rate.
  2. Improves vascular activity. It temporarily causes vasodilation, which increases the diameter of blood vessels and speeds up the formation of capillaries in damaged tissue.
  3. Increases metabolic activity. Laser Therapy facilitates oxygen delivery from bloodstream to cells and increases membrane permeability.
  4. Stimulates fibroblasts. Fibroblasts are the building blocks of healthy collagen, which leads to stronger tissue.
  5. Reduces formation of fibrotic scar tissue. Laser Therapy is used to treat open wounds, scars and burns for optimal healing.
  6. Reduces swelling. The light activates the lymphatic drainage system.
  7. Muscular pain relief. Laser Therapy decreases inflammation, scar tissue formation, and desensitizes active trigger points.
  8. Improves nerve function. Laser light treatments can speed the process of nerve growth and reconnection – increasing the amplitude for action potentials that enhance muscle activity. The light also has a positive effect on nerve blocking cells, which decrease their sensitivity.
  9. It doesn’t hurt. Laser Therapy does not cause pain, it treats pain. Many even find the light treatments calming.
  10. It 's  fast and effective.  One of the best things about laser therapy in physiotherapy is that it only takes about 1-8 minutes. That means that you don’t need to take a whole day out of your busy schedule to get this treatment done. Most people will feel relief after just one session, and find that they’re able to fully recover from their injury after a couple of sessions. Combined with physiotherapy exercises and advice, you will be well on your way to trouble-free movement.

Seems too good to be true? Why don’t you give it a shot!
